"The Suits aren't going to stop looking for us, Bones." Lumpy held up Stevie Ching's phone, the one with the LightYear app. "We've got what they want!"
Okay, that didn't work. I moved to Plan B. "I think we blast ahead thirty years. What do you think? Do you think they'll have the cure thirty years from now?"
"I don't know, Bones. All I know is we need to figure it out before the next stop. The Suits will be there for sure." I could tell he was really worried because he had that crumpled look on his round, red face. So I took Stevie's phone from him and said, "We'll go right now! How does it work?"
He snatched it back from me in a panic, as if I were going to blow up the train with it."Bones!" He was looking down and scrolling on the phone as he spoke. "You don't just point and click. We need the right amount of power and there has to be…” He stopped scrolling and looked up, surprised by what he saw. "Wow, it says there's enough power here for another transport."
The train started to slow. He stood up next to me and made an adjustment on Stevie's phone. "We'll take it to the year 2045. That should be plenty of time."
Next thing I knew he had his arm stretched out in front of me like he was going to take a selfie. "Hold on, Bones. The flash is like nothing you've ever felt before."
I closed my eyes, held my breath . . . and nothing happened.
