In front of each Suit, the compartment in the table opened again and up rose what looked like an Xbox game controller. Joe groaned and pressed his head into his hands, then said too close to his microphone where everyone could hear him mumble, “Oh no, not another quiz.”
Stan looked at Freddy, covered his mic, and whispered, “Five hundred yuan Joe doesn’t answer a single question right.”
Freddy covered his mic and shot back, “You’re on, you’re on!”
The Boss, who was staring at Stan, yelled, “Stan, if you have something to say, please speak into your microphone!”
Stan leaned forward and said clearly into the mic, “Yes, Boss. Nothing to say, sir.”
The Boss turned his gaze to his right, onto Freddy. “Frederick, the first question is for you.”
On the big screen appeared video footage of an explosion going off at the secret lab where the LightYear app was developed. It showed the Suits breaching the building and storming the room where the app engineers were meeting. The Boss spoke as the scene played out.
“Would you say our mission at the LightYear Lab was a success?” His voice echoed around the room through the loudspeakers; he was miked in.
Freddy leaned back in his chair, confidently lacing his fingers behind his head and grinning. He leaned toward Stan instead of the microphone and said, “No!”
