“Lump, I’m not sure I’m strong enough to get up and go anywhere.”

Lumpy shook his head defiantly. “Bones, when we went back in time, you were healthy. No cancer. Time travel was good for you.”

And then it all came back to me like a giant wave crashing into shore. I remembered feeling so good, and it was amazing, even though it had only lasted for a few days.

Lumpy stood over my head and gave me a look that said he knew what he was doing and that I just needed to trust him. We had to continue our quest for a cure. And why not, I had nothing to lose. According to the LightYear app, ten months from now, I wouldn’t exist.

“So Lump, where will we go?” I said. As if on cue, the door burst open and in stumbled . . . Stevie?

“China!” he shouted.

And then, very quietly, another boy stepped into the room behind Stevie. He just stood there and said nothing.
