Then he just leaned forward on his bike and looked straight ahead like he was ten years old and about to race Mazz on the playground. When Bones put his mind to something, he just did it.

Not me. I was worried that the Yizzzzza still wanted revenge for Bones' successful loop two summers ago. Nobody had done it before him, and no one has done it since. And as much as I hated to think it, I couldn't help wondering if whatever cancer medicine Bones was taking might make him lose control of the Basket Barge and we'd both end up in the hospital.

Bones was still looking straight ahead, strangely silent.

"Bones!" I gave him a little shove to shake him out of his time warp. "I'm not just gonna hop on. We need some sort of plan. V and Woody both lost their bikes trying to get a glimpse of the launcher. Are you willing to risk losing the Barge for this?"

That's when Bones pointed to his helmet and looked at me like he was about to blast off to the moon.

"I know what I'm doing, Lump. Just press play."
