The system had about a thousand cameras all over our town, and we could see every single street with it. Ridgewood was a town where people wanted to get the best security money could buy, so they called my dad. Actually, they called his company; not too many people knew my dad's private number.

Police used the RACK to solve crimes, although there wasn't really a lot of crime in Ridgewood. I used it to produce, record, edit, and watch one of my favorite shows on TV: "BonesCam."

When I got up to Command Central, I stopped to look at all the pictures on the wall behind my dad's big desk. There were celebrities and presidents of the United States and all sorts of famous people. My dad had set me up with a small desk next to his with a bunch of monitors, my laptop, and a nice comfortable chair. He had even bought a rolling chair for Bones so we could sit at the RACK together.

How do you get the sweetest setup and full access to all the cameras in your town? Pretty simple. First, your dad owned the company that installed the system. And second, he was out of the country more than he was home. So . . . full access.

But I would have traded all the monitors just to have him see a few more of my lacrosse games.
