G, who was sitting at Yogi’s heels, barked twice. She wanted some credit, too, I guess. Yogi scratched G’s ears and laughed. “I couldn’t have done it without you, G!”
G barked in acknowledgement. RUUUFFF!!!
“Of course we’re happy to help anytime, Sheriff,” Yogi said. “But these two boys here”—he pointed at me and Bones—“are the real heroes.”
The paramedics were the only people who hadn’t moved since everyone had arrived on the scene. They just stood there, staring at me and Bones, like a couple of dorks.
Yogi nodded at them. “Slim, Baz, if you don’t mind checking the boys out. I think they might’ve gotten a bit of a head-knocking.”
The one who had “BAZ” stiched on his shirt said, “So which one of you took on Luigi’s bakery truck this morning?”
Bones’ hand shot up. “That was one of the best donuts I’ve ever had—way better than Dunkin’ Donuts!”
