Estelle got back into the Hog and leaned out the window. "CJ, before you go inside, have Gomes shake off in the garage, get him some clean clothes from the spare drawer, and have your sister wash his wet ones while he dries off."
Gomes? At least she got the sound right.
Estelle pulled the Hog onto the street and leaned out the window again to take one more look at the damage. "Four months I own this car, not so much as a scratch and now this!" She started rolling up the window. "Oh, and CJ, tell your sister where the washing machine is." That was pretty dumb, considering Gina did her own laundry.
Bones climbed out of the fountain, and that was when I noticed he looked skinnier than I had ever seen him. "Bones, what's going on with you? You look like a soggy skeleton. You need to eat more donuts."
When the Hog was far enough down the road, we celebrated with a bunch of high tens. Bones was so tall he had to lower his hands so I didn't have to jump up to reach. Bones had broken a fifteen-month-old record!
I was so fired up about Bones' bike ride. "Four minutes and four seconds. You beat the old record by nine seconds!"
"The Olson shortcut is now official, Lump! She was in the pool . . . naked!"
"C'mon, Bones! You really saw Mrs. Olson skinny dipping?!"
"Oh yeah!" Bones held up his hands for me to jump up to another high ten for the Olson shortcut. Then he got all serious on me. "Lump, tell me you got the Basket Barge Launch on the RACK. Please tell me you got it."
"Oh, I got it, Bones. I got it."
