Yogi walked over to Chief and asked him to give him the Foozle. Chief looked at him. I noticed that his grip tightened on the contraption. Was he changing his mind? Was he going to back out on the peace deal between us and the Suits?
I guess that made sense, if I really thought about it. I mean, Chief had mentioned that he had a Boss, and this Boss guy didn’t sound very nice. I’m guessing that if Chief and Joe got caught helping us, they’d get in really big trouble.
Suddenly, Chief snapped his wrist to power on the Foozle and he yelled, “Step back!”
“Hey!” I yelled. He could zap Yogi in half with one easy swipe.
“Please don’t hurt him,” Bones begged.
Antone whispered loudly, “Sal, will you look at the horsepower on that thing. Wait for my signal, we’re getting in on this.”
Yogi was having a stare-off with Chief, with the most lethal weapon ever invented pointed right at him. But Yogi didn’t look the slightest bit afraid. In fact, he had positioned himself in front of me and Bones. He seemed to care more about protecting us than he did about saving his own life.
