How ironic—here they were, sitting alone in a park, undisturbed, with the Foozle and the Ching and all they had to do was set the time and date as instructed by Dr. Yang and use the Foozle to power it and they’d be home free, but Joe was saying that they needed to go back.
Chief picked up the phone and flipped it right side up, where a small, round hole for powering was located. Stevie had said that his dad’s engineering team called it the Ching Charger because it was Stevie’s dad who had invented it. The phone was powered by light, not electricity.
The Ching Charger had no prongs like a normal power adapter, but instead a small, round chute for a light force like the Foozle to penetrate and power it. Without sufficient power, the LightYear app would not work and transport would be impossible.
The Foozle was originally created by the Suits to be the most powerful handheld weapon in the world, but then, back when they had exploded into the secret lab for the LightYear app, they had discovered it had an even more valuable use.
After one engineer of the nine escaped from the lab, the Suits, led by Chief and his team, gathered up all the prototypes and found that they didn’t have sufficient power to even test a time transport.
