“Lump, look at you. You still have your hand on the brakes. We’re going to find this guy if it’s the last thing I do.” Bones was right. I couldn’t let go of the brake on my bike because I was afraid that we wouldn’t find anything and Bones’ hopes would be crushed.
But I realized in that moment that he really didn’t care. He was so excited about going and never let the doubt get in his way. That was Bones—he just kept going.
TSSSSS!!!! Another airbrake blast. I rolled my bike into the rack and wrapped my lock around Bones’ Basket Barge as well. You should have seen the smile on his face when I looked up at him. We sprinted to the train.
As we were running, I asked Bones, “Did you get the tickets?” He looked at me in surprise. “You think we’ll need them?”
