“No way, Cal, she doesn’t want that,” Gordo retorted. “What would a killer mutt want with a fancy battery?”

G growled. Mazz clutched the phone to his chest. “Well, she’s not getting it! I don’t care if she—” G lowered her head and growled even louder. Nobody was better at pretending to be ferocious than G.

“Just give it to her!” Gordo snapped.

Mazz dropped the phone to the floor and slid it across the tree fort floor to G. “Here, you can have it! Just leave us alone!”

G gently took the phone in her mouth and padded across the room (Mazz and Gordo cowered in the corner), then she jumped out the open window and landed soundlessly on the ground.

The boys ran over to look out the window. G had hopped into Yogi’s truck, and as they rolled away, Yogi’s voice floated through the fort window…

“Mission accomplished! Good girl!”
