Aldo strode out the door as Joe grabbed another slice of pepperoni pizza. He folded it in half and took a giant bite. “How great is this, huh!” He wiped tomato sauce off his cheek with the back of his hand. “What’s the chances this guy actually knows the Boss? Seems strange, don’t it?
Eating Aldo’s pizza was somehow making Joe surprisingly more observant than usual.
Chief nodded thoughtfully. “Our new friend Aldo definitely does not know our Boss. He reports to a different boss, a mafia boss. You know what that is, don’t you, Joe?”
“Sure,” Joe said, taking another huge bite. “Organized crime. How’s that any different than what we do, Chief?”
Chief opened his mouth, then shut it again. He didn’t know what to say. Joe had a point. After all, they were on a mission to steal a phone with an app on it that would leave the rest of the world at the mercy of whoever’s hands it fell into.
Chief grabbed his queasy stomach. If he hadn’t been hungry before, now he had really lost his appetite.
