"There you are, honey. I was running late and wasn't sure if you were coming straight home from school." Then she turned to us. "Hi. Thank you so much for bringing Hank home. I'm—"

Estelle couldn't help herself. "Marita, yes I see from the name tag. He doesn't have a key, so we were going to wait, of course."

Bones' mom opened the door and started walking into the apartment. There were boxes piled everywhere and no furniture, but she invited us in anyway. "I don't have much but how about a cup of coffee?"

Estelle told her that we had to get my hair cut and do some shopping at Lord & Taylor. She couldn't help throwing in the name of a fancy department store.

I, on the other hand, had no idea she was trying to get out of there, so I protested. "I just got my hair cut last week at Aldo's, and I hate clothes shopping." Then she gave me the death stare, and we left.
