The Boss had his hand on the console in front of him and he hit a button that made a zapping sound. ZZZZZZZTT!! The noise came from Freddy’s chair, and it sent Freddy flying out of his seat with a “YOWW!”

Joe leaned into his microphone and said, “Um, Boss, Freddy’s answer wasn’t right?”

In the darkness, the Boss’ silvery vest turned toward Joe. You could almost feel his grim smile. “Freddy got the question wrong because he failed to speak into the microphone.”

Freddy rocketed forward in his seat, so close to the micro- phone he was practically eating it. “The answer is no! We failed the mission. The boy was in the lab, we had no idea he was there, and he made off with the Ching and LightYear app.”

Up on the screen “Mission Failed” appeared in bold, red font with a box around it and the accompanying sound ANNNNTTTTT!!!

“You are correct. Mission failed,” the Boss replied calmly. The Boss turned his body ever so slightly toward Harvey, who was sitting next to Freddy. Again, video began to play. Harvey could practically lick his microphone he was so close to it. He wasn’t about to get zapped for not talking into it.

On the screen was the helicopter scene on the streets of Ridgewood. The black SUVs pulled into view and the Boss said, “We have the app engineer’s boy surrounded. He has the Ching. We take him from the bicycle with the baskets to the helicopter and fly away.”
